These no-bake Frozen Greek Yogurt Bars are the perfect summer snack or healthy dessert. Made with creamy yogurt, berry compote and a chewy cookie base!
If you’re looking fo a refreshing frozen treat for the summer, you have to give these bars a try! They’re full of nourishing ingredients, packed with protein, and there’s no baking required.
These yogurt bars have a few components, but trust me, they are actually super simple to make and definitely worth it. It starts with a delicious chewy base that comes together in a food processor and then it’s topped with creamy greek yogurt and a simple berry compote. After freezing for a few hours, you’re ready to cut into squares and enjoy!
Ingredients you’ll need
- Frozen mixed berries: I used blueberries and raspberries, but feel free to use whatever you prefer or have on hand.
- Greek yogurt: it’s important to use a high fat yogurt for best results. This helps to give the bars a creamier texture. A low-fat yogurt will result in bars with an icy texture. If you’re dairy-free, you could also use a thick plant-based yogurt instead, however make sure you’re getting one with a higher fat content like coconut yogurt.
- Medjool dates: this gives the base its sweetness and helps to hold it all together.
- Rolled oats: rolled oats help to make the base of the bars. I haven’t tested substitutes for this, but I’m sure almond flour would also work! You’ll likely just have to use slightly more than the recipe calls for.
- Raw pecans: adds a sweet nutty and buttery flavour to the base.
- Lemon juice: this is added to the berry mixture. You could omit it, but I love the extra freshness that it adds.
- Maple syrup: the maple syrup adds a touch of sweetness to the yogurt filling. I find maple syrup works best here as it’s a lot easier to mix into the yogurt than honey.
- Vanilla extract: a touch of vanilla helps to add a subtle flavour to the greek yogurt.
- Coconut oil: coconut oil helps to form the base of the bars.
- Ground cinnamon: this adds a touch of warm notes to the base.
- Sea salt: to balance the sweetness and enhance some of the other flavours.
How to store frozen yogurt bars
You can store these bars in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two months. Placing some parchment paper between slices can prevent them from sticking to each other. Allow to thaw for about 10 minutes or so to soften them up a bit before eating. I personally like to leave mine out until is pretty melty and I have to use a spoon to eat it!

Ingredients
Berries
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Base
- 1/3 cup packed Medjool dates, pitted (~4-5 dates)
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup raw pecans
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
Yogurt
- 1.5 cups plain, full-fat greek yogurt (see notes)
- 2-3 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Add the berries to a small saucepan and heat over medium low. Once softened, lightly mash some of the berries with a fork. Continue to simmer for 5-8 minutes, or until thickened. Stir in the lemon juice and set aside.
- To make the base, combine all the ingredients in a food processor and process until you have a crumbly mixture that easily sticks together. Press into the bottom of an 8x 8 baking pan lined with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, add yogurt, maple syrup and vanilla. Stir to combine and pour over the base layer.
- Drop spoonfuls of the berry mixture onto the surface of the yogurt and use a butter knife to swirl.
- Place in the freezer for 2-3 hours or until the yogurt is set. Remove from the pan and slice into bars or squares. Allow to thaw slightly before enjoying!
