This summer I’ve really been leaning into mocktails! I don’t mind a cocktail here and there, but I personally find I feel so much better when I skip the alcohol.

Because soda water and lime just gets boring after awhile, I really wanted to make something that was going to taste delicious, but also had some added health benefits.

This Hibiscus Blueberry Mocktail hits all the marks. It’s tart, fruity, slightly sour and super refreshing. The blueberries really helps to compliment the floral notes of the hibiscus and the fresh lime, mint and sparkling water are the perfect finishing touches.

Ingredient notes

You only need 5 ingredients to make these delicious Hibiscus Blueberry Mocktails!

  • Dried hibiscus flower: I typically buy loose flower from the health food store and then place it in a tea ball or infuser to steep, however you can also use hibiscus tea bags.
  • Blueberries: fresh blueberries helps to add more natural sweetness to the drink while keeping in low in sugar.
  • Fresh mint: for more freshness and flavour, the mint is muddled with the blueberries.
  • Lime: fresh lime is best!
  • Sparkling water: for a little fizz, we finish off the mocktail with some sparkling water.

Health benefits

This hibiscus mocktail is a great alternative to alcoholic beverages, but it’s also packed with health benefits!

Hibiscus is a great source of antioxidants that can help fight free radical damage. It’s also known for its ability to lower high blood pressure and may even help to lower blood sugar.

Our next star ingredient, blueberries, is one of the most antioxidant rich fruits in the world. Wild blueberries are especially high in antioxidants and are a great option if they’re available to you. This fruit can also help fight inflammation and can help promote healthy brain aging!
